In 2022 I'll be ticking an adventure off my bucket list, the Shitbox Rally! And I'll be dragging Father aka, Bill Goeldner, along with me!! Let’s be honest, I'll be his side kick, not the other way around.
The Shitbox Rally has been on my list for years, but it turned into a "one day" adventure that never had the right timing, that was until I found myself in an ongoing health battle.
These last two years has made me realise that we can't wait for "one day", we need to make time for the adventures today! So Shitbox 2022, here we come!!
The aim of the Shitbox Rally is to drive a "shitbox" worth less than $1000.00 across country to raise money for the Cancer Council. Curing cancer is a cause close to both our hearts, particularly bowel cancer. So, we got ourselves a beast of a car, a 2006 Falcon Wagon, we've called her Apples (Apples are the bowel cancer logo) and we're set to go. Now comes the hardest part of all, raising the minimum $5000.
This is where we ask for your help. If you'd like to donate a dollar or two in memory of someone we've loved and lost, or to help those we love who have previously fought, or are currently fighting cancer, we'd love your support.
I'd also love a donation or two for those with Genetic Bowel Cancer Syndromes, something affecting our family.
We appreciate every donation, and we look forward to sharing our adventure with you.
Please make sure to follow our progress via this page and the blog post below. Shandell x (And Father)

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,500, on a 7 day drive across Australia to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
Shitbox Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.
Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.
Thanks to the community funds raised such as Shitbox Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.
$41 million over the past 13 years has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:
These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
