We are reaching out to everyone we know to help with a great cause. We are pleased to announce that we're taking part in the Shitbox Rally 2022 and will be driving a shitbox car valued at $1000 which we hope will get us to our destination. We head off on the 7th of May driving our shitbox from Wollongong and arrive in Mackay on the 13th of May, with a detour via South Australia covering over 3500kms.
Shitbox Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 12th year. Part of the participation is that all teams have to raise a minimum of $5,000 but most teams raise well above this amount. Due to the kindness of our supporters, we have raised our donation target, now up to $7500. The 2022 Autumn rally target is set at $2,500,000 but we are hoping to blow this away.
We are hoping that you will be kind enough to help support us in this great cause and make a small contribution via the attached link. You may think that we are bold in looking for $100 each (happy to accept more or less) from fifty of our friends (and we have always counted you as one) ? but we know that many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another. Whether it be parents, family, close friends, people we know or ourselves that have battled or are battling cancer, this awful disease has touched us all.
We not only want to raise awareness and money for Cancer Council, but also want to offer support and a friendly ear to those that have suffered or are suffering. These funds go to the Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. The fundraising is the hard part, so any donation you can give is greatly appreciated.

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,500, on a 7 day drive across Australia to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.

Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.
